As I lay here writing,
Trying to find a muse.
My mind keeps wanting to wonder,
With thoughts that simple confuse.
I think of far off places,
Filled with golden sand.
Camels marching two by two,
Across the promised land.
I drift off to the ocean,
Where waves come crashing by.
Watching the sun sink,
Giving way to a star spangled sky.
My mind keeps taking me further,
Drifting up into untouched space.
Where planets, comets and Suns pass by,
Like some never ending race.
So as I lay here writing,
My mind is not in my head.
It's darting around in another world,
Where mere mortals fear to tread.
